I always thought that with my genetics of big legs and big butt, it wouldn't be possible to hold a handstand. Today, I'm moving my legs and holding up to 30 seconds with my legs together. It has been 3 months of dedication, fun and a lot of learning and this is just the beginning of my journey with Arthur!"

I enrolled in the school to develop my personal practice, but was worried because I wouldn't be able to participate in the live classes and thought that this would limit my progress. I was surprised with the speed which I advanced and continue to advance in my practice until today and I see how the personal feedback, the recorded classes, Arthur's didactics and willingness to teach were essential in this journey."

It has always been a dream of mine to access the handstand during my yoga practice. I watched tutorials on YouTube but never succeeded. It was then that I enrolled in the Handstand Vinyasa school and in less than 2 months I managed to hold a handstand in the middle of my room! The gratitude I have for all the teachings and adjustments made by Arthur is immeasurable."

BUT WHY?

Why practice handstands?

This will be different for every individual: some people want to use the handstands in their yoga flows, others want to overcome a challenge and there are people who just want to do it because they think it's beautiful.

There is no "right reason" to practice, that being said, there are 3 reasons that make me believe that everyone should learn how to balance on their hands.

Develop balance, on and off the mat.

Everything in life taken to the extreme turns into a negative version of itself, highlighting the importance of maintaining balance in all aspects of our lives.

The handstand journey is a path towards strength, concentration, discipline, patience and balance, all that combined with the breath and the upside-down aspect.

Developing this skill offers a subtle understanding of balance that can be applied to other areas of life, making it a powerful tool for personal development.

A tool to face fear.

Fear can cause us to act irrationally.

If you are not easily scared, this journey may be easier for you. However, for those who are more prone to fear, this journey can be especially liberating.

Understanding how you act and react to stressful situations can help you learn to stay calm and navigate these challenging moments both on and off the mat.

The symbolism behind the pose is amazing.

The handstand is a yoga pose, and its Sanskrit name is Adho Mukha Vrksasana, which translates to "inverted tree pose" in English.

In this pose, your roots (your why/intentions) come from above, from the divine, from the cosmos, or from something bigger than yourself, and you bear the fruits here below on earth, in the dense, physical, and material world that we know.

When you practice handstands, you enhance your ability to visualize goals that come from the subtle world and manifest them in the physical world.

Yoga Teacher - Bahia, Brazil

I started trying to learn how to handstand by myself, watching YouTube videos and reading some tips online. For a few months, I felt no progress in my practice. My online connection with Arthur and his classes, techniques and teaching methodology were a watershed for me to finally understand how to balance on my hands."

Before I started practicing with Arthur, I had no idea of the breadth of the handstand practice. I practiced alone but had no knowledge of the techniques. I thought I just had to throw my legs up and try to find balance. When I started the handstand classes was when I realized that the depth of the practice was much greater than I imagined."

Yoga Teacher - Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil

Despite having a regular yoga practice for seven years, I've always had a problem with the handstand. After I started Arthur's classes, I overcame my biggest limitations, his teachings made all the difference in my process. In addition, he believes in you, vibrates with your slightest achievement! He makes you believe in yourself, and that makes all the difference!"
